This is a pretty cool song, I've heard that the lead singer of the band is Jewish? Honestly I don't care what his religion is, but it doesn't look like he's Jewish to me. |

Washed out is all about the past. Especially giving nostalgia to people who grew up in the 80's. There are hidden, almost "subliminal messages" in the music; of old songs, commercial tunes, sound effects from radios, or small things people grew up hearing and didn't notice. Doing this brings nostalgia to some. This song is one of the most obvious examples, just listen to "I want you" by Gary Low. I've heard some things about the music being made by using sounds from cassettes, and that might be a reason why the audio is so wild. It almost sounds like there was way to much hypercompression before it was mastered, but it sounds cool and easy to listen to. That's good enough for me. |

The lyrics listed for this song are true. It says so on their website and the book the album comes with.
I looked up "hiv" in the dictionary and the only term is the STD. So I am assuming this song is about her worrying that she has the STD. |
