I think it's about him being deeply in love, it's feels so unreal it's supernatural and "When it's more than physical it's kind of hard to see beyond the glow" which to me means it's more than just sex, just so wonderful and bright to be in love. |

I think this song is about a guy who made a mistake a long time ago and has been making up for it, doing everything he should and has been forgiven but the girl he's with still seems to expect that he'll do it again and won't believe that he won't do it again. |

For me these lyrics are about how we need love to live, the lyrics to me talk about growing up and how part of growing up is loving and falling in love. To me it also talks about how love is important and is a force that drives us all to live, love generally makes us happy but it can also be painful. To me it's also that when in love we're truly alive and that even when love hurts you it reminds you that you're alive because you can feel, you feel hurt, whereas if love doesn't hurt then there are no feelings, your not alive. I also think its about how when your young falling in love is easier because you don't fully understand it but when your older and have experienced love before it's harder because your now looking for "the one" and sometimes you wish for the easier times when it wasn't so hard to love someone.
Anyway that is how I view this song. |

I like reading peoples interpretations of the meanings of songs, sometimes I don't have an opinion other times I do and want to see if someone had a similar idea to mine.
Anyway for this song I have to agree with what some of you are saying about it being about getting high, I can see where your coming from but I also think it could be to do with changing. Becoming someone different. I think maybe in this song its about something that had happened in the past and when people experience terrible thing it can leave them feeling numb to the world and I think that maybe this song is about overcoming that and feeling again, maybe feeling high because they'd been stuck in the emotional numbness and getting past that I would guess would make you feel high. That's the impression this song gives me, saying goodbye to who you were but also maybe the name of the song and the lyrics "Nice to know you" aren't meant in a negative way but could be a thanks as in without being that person I wouldn't be who I am today so it would be nice to know you as it has helped you grow.
