More than that, I always think as this song being about Japan, in a position of being destroyed by the bombs in the WWII. I think the "person that sings the song" IS Japan. Matt has a part of his family from Japan. Japanese people are great cientists, they deal pretty good with technology and the way of life of them is not aggressive to themselves.

"Seen the world for what it's worth" - Exactly this behaviour of, you know, acting for the human kind, not only for their own culture and power. And right after that line, "Tears rain down from the sky" - The rain, the bombs, the sadness... Even Japan is like this, "They'll blow it all to bits".

I think this song mainly is about the rage of Trivium himself against the coward move of the USA in the WWII.
