Beautiful song, Sylvian is amazing. Part of this is a warning not to let the bastards grind you down, I wonder if it could be for his daughter, or perhaps it's just a song. I heard it as "to the strains of our love", but these lyrics are correct and match what is posted on his website. |

I don't have any grand insight on this, but I don't see the lesbian sex thing. It seems too simple and crude for Patti. I thought perhaps the title referenced the Ballard story, and didn't take the eating to be a literal thing. But hey, maybe after being away from making music, raising kids, and having her husband and others close to her die, she decided to write a cheap metaphor for cunnilingus. |

The title comes from a cartoon appropriated for the cover art of the Sterolab album Peng!
I forget the story, but the final panel of the cartoon was the character shooting and the sound of the gun was Peng! |

It was released on a Finnish compilation of Aki Kaurismaki's film soundtrack music. I believe it was also a single in Finland. Good luck finding it though. The other song from the film came out on a Pogues box set. |
