Black Veil Brides – The Gunsling Lyrics 14 years ago
I personally think this song is about a person who is contemplating whether to commit suicide or not. He knows he's done plenty of less than wonderful things in his life and is mentally battling his half that says "end it; kill yourself" with his other half that says "you can right this now and save yourself". So, "Both outlaws equal, yes indeed", would mean that he's torn between the sides of his mental argument.

In the end, I think he pushes away the negative thoughts and saves himself with his thoughts of bettering himself in the future. Though, he says, that if this argument ever arises again and he ends with the negative, suicidal, side that he tried his best to make himself at least better than he was before.

"In time. In vain.
I wash my hands, of yesterday.
If I should fall,
if I should pass,
it's worth one last stand before the gates of hell"

This song is definitely dedicated to his fans, saying that he and BVB will always be there for them when they're feeling defeated and alone.
As a member of the BVBarmy, this song made me cry the first time I heard it. xD

Haha I'm glad you agree. xD Besides, writing about something like vampires is completely not their style at all lol.

Well, I don't think this song is about vampires, considering Andy and the band themselves have said that they don't write songs about fantasy or things they haven't experienced themselves. Their songs come from their own personal experiences in daily life.

I'm not exactly sure what the song is actually about, though. It's meaning is probably similar to their other songs; relating to misfits and how people see and stereotype them.
