Joy Division – Isolation Lyrics 13 years ago
The last verse is about the artist's dilemma. As an artist you can see things nobody can see. Like a world within a world. Beautiful pictures and stories that seems to be true even when they're just in your head. That's the reason why you want to be alone but it's also a dilemma because loneliness often leads into self-chosen isolation. Today we read "The Sorrows of Young Werther" in school. The letter from 10th may is similiar to this verse from Ian Curtis. I knew this since I first listened to the song. It perfectly describes what I feel and see since the beginning of my childhood. Things you want to get out of your head and show them to other people even if they don't understand it. I personally think that Ian was one of the best songwriters of his generation. Pure wisedom and beauty in his words.

New Order – Temptation Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is about taking drugs or drug addiction:

1. Temptation is a desire you can't resist just like you can't resist taking drugs when you're addicted to it.

2. The chorus is about the feeling you'll have when the trip fades away. "Please don't let me hit the ground" <--- That says everything!

3. When you're taking drugs your eyecolor could possibly change. I have no source for that (I searched for it on the net) but I heard about it quite often. The changing eyecolor could also stand for the color of the pills or drugs.

4. "And I've never met anyone quite like you before" Come on, that's too obvious. He's overwhelmed by the the trip. He could also say: "And I've never experienced something like this before."

5. "To break this circle that's placed around me" He can't escape his addiction even when he's trying to. Also this could mean his circle of friends.

6. "Oh, it's the last time" - He wanna quit taking drugs.

It kinda fits "Trainspotting" very well. Awesome song and one of my personal favourites.

Joy Division – Transmission Lyrics 14 years ago
Awesome! "Listen to the silence, let it ring on. Eyes, dark grey lenses frightened of the sun. We would have a fine time living in the night, Left to blind destruction, Waiting for our sight."

I think the message of the song is that we all rather listen to music than listen to the news or something else. The important thing is that we can dance, just dance but not think about anything in our life or in our society: "No language, just sound, that's all we need know, to synchronise love to the beat of the show. And we could dance."
