| Radiohead – Nice Dream Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I really love Radiohead for their complex and yet simple lyrics. To echo what Labertasche said, the song is about being loved. Its about relying on people only to find out the truth is people are unreliable in nature. Its a "nice dream" we create when we promise to "protect" and "love someone like a brother" and have it in return but its mostly a dream, not always realistic. I don't read the lyrics as sad or angry just as an epiphany. I'm still trying to wrap my head around one lyric: "[She said that she'd like to come help] but the sea would electrocute us all" chill worthy lyric (like "hand shake of carbon monoxide" lyric from No Surprises) |

| I'm so stunned by these lyrics. I've always liked this song after hearing it in the WFE commercials but this is my first time reading the lyrics and I've got goosebumps. wow. | |

"I'll take the quiet life a hand shake of carbon monoxide with no alarms and no surprises" Is my favorite line. My interpretation is him opting for suicide instead of being "surprised" by death as inevitable as it may be. |

| Sia – Death by Chocolate Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I love this song! I've been looking for a job and turned to the only people I thought would help me out and was turned away. I felt so betrayed and listening to this song really helped me move on. Here is my interpretation: The short: In life, people betray you and break your heart. It won't kill you. The long: I think of this song as Sia telling her younger innocent self (or another person) who has just gone through her first major breakup that this is a part of life and she will survive it as Sia did "Death by Chocolate is a myth, This I know because I've lived" I think of "Death by Chocolate is a myth" as a playful way of saying... eat your feelings! Lol Chocolate helps to heal a broken heart and it wont kill you. Sia goes on to say "Death by crying doesn't exist" Crying your eyes out is a part of healing and that things will get better. It feels like you might explode is a way of addressing how young girls will dramatize something as devastating as a breakup (or whatever it is... for me, it was losing out on a job and feeling betrayed by people who i felt always had my back) The chorus: "Tears on your pillow will dry and you will learn Just how to love again Oh my weeping willow Let your leaves fall and return Oh darling the seasons are your friend" I believe here she's saying you will survive this. The world continues spinning, seasons go by and then likens the girl to a weeping willow that endures the seasons but is still standing at the end of them. The seasons help you to grow and thus "are your friends" The next verse: Death by anger this is true... Is her saying don't let the anger consume you. First is sadness and then anger kicks in and it can be a dangerous thing. To answer your question eternalsunshine11, "he's but a falling leaf" alludes to how a tree though the many seasons will grow and shed leaves and he's just an insignificant part of that process. In all the she will endure and go through... he's just one single falling leaf. LOVE this song. |

I didn't mean life was that simple... I meant the meaning of the song.... I think it fits into any kind of relationship. Family, Friends or romantic relationships. The world is filled with sadness yes but having someone there to hold you in their arms (forever), while it doesn't solve anything, it eases some pain. which is a beautiful thing. but the last verse of the song kind of brings back the realness and teaches us this is how it is ("so now you see how it is") and not numb ourselves to it... |

| Amos Lee – Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I don't know who Elliot Smith is (dodges tomatoes) BUT thats my favorite verse because of the complexity and truth of it. I don't think that she's in love with the world is necessarily an ideal thing for him. When I think of it, I think of it as her in love with the material things, with success and money... and he's not as into that. So he has to let her do her own thing "gotta learn how to let her go over the rainbow"; the rainbow which he earlier referred to as fame and fortune "some people claim if you get enough fame, you live over the rainbow" | |

| I think its as simple as a couple living in a crazy world and finding solace in each other's arms | |
