in my opinion, i think this song is his conscience encouraging the man to leave his wife and past behind. In this concept album, he has not been able to find the strength to do much (ex, saving his wife from the burning house), so his inner voice is telling him what he should do. The "leave this burning house and break the curse" could even be referring to the inner voice telling him to walk away instead of saving his wife like he ended up doing in "A great fire" this is just my interpretation of it, hope i helped :) |
