| In cultural anthropology there is a concept called participant observation. It is a required method of writing cultural ethnographic studies. Each quick lyrical observation is of a different individual. Quick mental notations and generalisations of each person, in a group being studied. Come back and focus again, after going out front to jot notes down. A couple. A guy picking up a girl. Someone warming up from being outside in the cold/snow. Someone who is a self-conscious, young 'sprig'. Before you are lost between the "notes", feelings regarding discursive theory. Witnessing someone being knived. A girl dancing ecstatically. Illumination and the transformation of ordinary experience.. and witnessing some threshold.. Feeling "bad" refers to some ethical concern, but the Jigsaw is falling into place. | |

I really love reading all the interpretations. I think that is awesome. I'm really surprised at how many people hear the lyrics so differently, especially when a couple of the lines sound so clear to me when I listen to it..
