| Lenny Kravitz – Let Love Rule Lyrics | 6 years ago |
| @[madmanmax:30355] exactly! I feel like one of the best things about this Lenny song is it's not so much about God, but about love in general. | |
| Lenny Kravitz – Does Anybody Out There Even Care Lyrics | 6 years ago |
| One of Lenny's best secular songs where his burning heart is on fire about racial hate. His performance of it on "Let Love Rule" tears me up. | |
| Jellyfish – Calling Sarah Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| I honestly hate how much I absolutely love this song. It's so uber catchy and super sweet and cute. It simultaneously gives me the hives and makes me feel balmy and urges me to sing along. Can I love Sarah too? I've got such a crush on her! | |
| Jellyfish – Brighter Day Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
The Jellyfish version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" maybe? The reference to Nirvana's "Come As You Are" rings out. Describing the biz and awful venues - get up there and sing and shut up. |

| Jellyfish – Too Much, Too Little, Too Late Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| This sounds to me a direct reflection of Jason Falkner's departure, although I could be wrong. | |
| Jellyfish – He's My Best Friend Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| @[ukiepah:4144] OMG YES! I GET IT!! LOL | |
| Jellyfish – Russian Hill Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| Trying to keep the simple pleasures alive - the ideas of freedom and the sense of being able to just simply enjoy things for what they are. It gets clouded as we grow up and see the world in all its flaws. Only Eden is for millionaires. | |
| Jellyfish – All Is Forgiven Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| Sounds like the writer is describing a relationship in which the guy is constantly forgiven even though he is lying nearly obviously, or at least obvious to the writer. A "Stool Pigeon" is an alibi. | |
| Jellyfish – Glutton of Sympathy Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
First of all - Bar None - My Favorite Jellyfish Song... He's held everything in and now cannot sleep. She's sick of him needing to be a glutton to her care that now she needs it as well. The ending is an absolutely brilliant coda overlaying the idea that each day represents a new chance to embrace the sunshine of someone's love. |

| Jellyfish – Sebrina, Paste And Plato Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| The strange mix of nothing makes sense and oh so drunk with infatuation - in love with a classmate when you're young. Great Song! | |
| Bee Gees – You Should Be Dancing Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It's what makes their songs great. | |
| Belle & Sebastian – Act of the Apostle II Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I totally thought that today while listening to it in the car. Music is the true religion in those beautiful lyrics: "I wish that I could sing / I'd stay in a melody / I would float along in my everlasting song." As a musician, and one who can hear the angels singing whether they be Mozart, Gershwin, Lennon-McCartney, or Murdoch, the meaning totally hits home. God is not in the churches, the synagogues, or the mosques, but in the heart and mind of those who hear the glory of music; it heals, it helps, and it saves. |

I think it's more about a very loving relationship, where even if he hurts the woman (gives her poison), she'll still be there for him, and will be understanding. Hence: "I wanna shine for you I wanna sparkle too" Too many themes of tenderness, yearning and sexual allusion to be just about Heroin. Yeah, they did drugs, we get it. But don't just hang everything on that. C'mon, I think Chris Robinson is a bit more that an indulgent druggie. He has a soul. |

| Donovan – Jennifer Juniper Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The French translation is pretty much what was said before in English: "Jennifer Juniper lives on the hill. Jennifer Juniper sitting very still. She is sleeping? I do not think so. She breathes? Yes, but softly. What are you doing, Jenny my love?" |

| Jenny Stigile – Wind's Nocturne Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I relate to this song a lot. There is a sense that destiny approaches you, but is it the type of thing you really want. The song is from a PSX game called Lunar: Silver Star Story, and the character who sings it is a young girl named Luna. She is unaware of her future, and her past is hidden from her, as she is an orphan. I don't think there ever has been or will be a more moving cut scene. Yes, characters in RPGs die and it's moving and sometimes well-done, but how many express the trepidation we all feel, the self-doubt if we are going the right way, and the fear that our future may not at all be what we expect. That's brilliance, and it made me a Game Arts fan from a while back. |

I agree with JDeanB here. The lyric "Well when I thought, well I thought when I thought you was my friend" could possibly be referring to Lennon in the context of Beatle history. RAM was an album full of angst and little jibes toward the broken relations of the four lads from Liverpool. I never understood the dog reference, but it sounds like defensive bragging. |
