Personally, I think he's a cheating SOB who tries to be faithful but he fails and admits that it's in his nature (animalistic). |

This song is catchy, but's it's disturbing. There's no indication of what happened beforehand so we don't know who wronged whom. Yet he says, "Besides the circumstances, I'd apologize." For what? And if it was her fault, why would you be apologizing?
Lets not forget that he's willing to do all the "Romantic Comedy" things to prove his love like shout it to the world, paint a 10 foot heart in her driveway. I don't know about you but if someone did that for me, I'd get a restraining order immediately! |

It's easy to see. This girl is just a hook-up. He's stopping her as she may be talking about "meeting her parents" and he's all like, "Whoa there girl! This isn't what you think it is."
Good guy though. He breaks it off when she goes all "clingy." |

It's actually quite obvious: This entire song is one whole big metaphor: "Half a world between us" could be an actual half world (Earth) or metaphorical world but it describes a divide the writer see between him/herself and the subject. "Gravity will bring our orbits together" simply means that no matter what we do, we always find ourselves in the same place. It could be that it's someone he/she always runs into or someone they are always drawn to. Either way, the subject is important in a way that the writer can never seem to separate themselves from. Minus energy, Gravity is relentless and will always win. |

It's pretty simple to understand: Verse one. They meet when he says "Look down at my feet. I was next to you and you were right there next to me." Then then are engaged and having dinner with her parents, "Look down at the ring. Your folks were next to you and you were right there next to me." And finally what seems like the breakup at, "There may come a day when we have nothing left to say. Then the conversation stops and we're facing our defeat." |

How can it be anything other than a person/soldier wondering, when your life revolves around completing your mission, "What does winning mean?" |
