At the start of this song is the quote, "I don't know who you are, where you're from, or what you want... but if you threaten my freedom, I'll kill you." This quote appears to originate in Duke Nuken 3D (1996) and was later heard in the premier of a TV series, Farscape (1999).

Arcturus – Du Nordavind Lyrics 12 years ago
DU NORDAVIND
-THOU NORTHERN WIND

Et blekt avdagsleite
-A pale (?avdagsleite?)
Famler hen, til nattvart himmel
-(?Famler hen?), to nightblack sky
Vandring hjem, til nattsvart himmel
-Wandering home, to nightblack sky
Vandring hjem i eismal
-Wandering home in lonelyness
Under skumringens tidligste stjerne
-Under the (?skumringens?) earliest star
Tusmørket dypner i det fjerne
-(?Tus?)darkness deep in the distant

Du nordavind, jeg speider fjern og nær
-Thou northern wind, I gaze near and afar
Kommer du igjen fra de øe land hvor ingen mann er?
-Will you come back from the desolate lands where no man are?

Tilsammen - vi to. over beksvart hav
-Together - You and me over black seas

Enn om du aldri hit vil komme
-Even if you never want to come here
Jeg tilbyi deg mitt kjølnende blod
-I sacrifice you my cold blood
Evig vil min sjel skue mot nord
-Eternally my soul will navigate to the north
Stundom mitt sinn skal reise
-Eventually my mind shall travel
Til tid tar slutt paa jord
-Until time ends on this earth

Hver en jævel vill
Som sank i vann før tid var til..
Jeg drev forlatt og vandret vill
-(Sorry! no resonable translations out of these three lines...)
Ennu har du ikke hørt mitt hill
-Yet you haven't heard my whole
I tomme natten skimjet jeg
-In the empty night I shimmer
Et glimt av land, en evig ild
-A glimpse of land, an eternal fire

Arcturus – Naar Kulda Tar (Frostnettenes Prolog) Lyrics 12 years ago
NAAR KULDA TAR - (Frostnettenes prolog)
-WHEN COLD TAKES - (The frostnight's prologue)

Naar vinteren tar bitter fart
-When winter grins bitterly
Og steiner sprekker i frostklar natt
-And stones glimpse in frosty night
Ved svarte tjern under naken li
-(?Ved?) black lake under naked (?li?-"li" is some sort of tree i think)

Da er villmarken vond aa ferdes i
-That's when the wilderness is dangerous to travel in

Vi befarer store sletter
-We travel great plains
Der sneen ligger tykk
-Where the snow lies thick
Det blaaser kaldt - Vi skal dø
-The wind blows cold - We're about to die
Vi har sørgelig nok forfalt
-Sadly enough, we're lost

Fra still tjern
-From silent lake
Till hortbetonte vidder
-To (?hortbetonte?) plains
Farvel-
-Farewell-

Arcturus – Raudt Og Svart Lyrics 12 years ago
RED AND BLACK

Their days have darkened
Mother earth states her absence
But the sword has been passed on
To a new bearer

We are lonely men
We carry the Fenres Wolf's Muspellheim*
Skoll shall darken the sun**

We are brave men

he sun darkens
Where the mountain wall tumbles
Now sorrow visits
On the tree of life (Yggdrasil)

Because Byleit's brother travels
What doesn't Kampfar manage?

summary:
This poem refers to figures from Norse mythology,
and to Ragnarok which is the great battle at the
end of the world. After which there will be a new
dawn.

*The word "Muspellsheim" has its origin from the
creation of the world through norse mythology. On
one side it was the cold and misty Niflheim,
Muspellsheim raging in flames on the other. In
between laid Ginngungagap, the endless abyss.

**Skoll skal slukke solen (that's the Danish spelling)
would directly be translated into "Skoll will put out
the sun" i.e. referring to the great wolf that devours
the entire star.

FGFC820 – Society Lyrics 12 years ago
In summary this song is about the degradation of society, including social dependency, conformism, ignorance, and consumerism in American culture.

It starts out with the rather angry line "every time I walk down the street, I want to kill half the people I meet"... which expresses the strife felt by the writer towards at least half the people he encounters, elaborated by "mindless zombies just running around", used to represent all the people who are still not consciously awake, and just plugged in to their cell phones and other electronic devices.

The second stanza is speaks for those who just follow the path of least resistance, like a flock of sheep, doing as they are told, and taking what they are given. The third stanza explains how the writer will not bow to peer pressure to conform, and how what they think does not matter to him.

The forth stanza is subtle and powerful in it's meaning. "Their grand design" refers to the expectations of the global powers, Illuminati, NWO, or whatever they may be... the expectations that a large portion of the populace is lazy, and will gladly exchange freedom and liberties for handouts and security. "See through" and "See the truth" encourages people to look, observe, research, and discover truth on their own rather than accepting what they are told by the government and educational institutions.

On the positive side, you could say this song is about encouraging people who hear it to live their lives by their own rules, and not be part of the system that is only increasing the gap between the rich and the poor. On the negative, it is a somewhat anti-social message, and possibly has an undertone that some people are just stupid and non-contributing members of society.

I can't claim to elaborate on the contents of this song, but I will say that I am pretty sure the voice samples (such as "I'll f**k you in hell!") are from Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.

I can't comment on the lyrics, but the song title is in reference to book "The Doors of Perception" (1954) by Aldous Huxley, which details his experiences when taking mescaline.

God Module – Transcend Lyrics 14 years ago
At first I just liked the way this song sounded, but upon further reflection of the lyrics it is actually really deep and I am surprised by what I get out of it...

To me, this is a song about letting go of your ego when you're meditating, or experiencing a psychedelic trip. It is very hard for most people to "let this all go" but if you manage to do that, then you may realize the connections everything has and how you are one with the universe.

"You live in a prison that you build in your mind" refers to your normal frame of consciousness and what your ego is, who is used to define yourself. This song may even be about death (or just ego death), and transcendence into the next dimension. I don't claim to know what they were thinking when they wrote this song, but those are my thoughts on it.
