Burton Cummings – Is It Really Right? Lyrics 13 years ago
I believe this is about the philosophy of life and what it means to us. What is the meaning of life?

Burton Cummings – I'm Scared Lyrics 13 years ago
Seriously? No one? This song is my favourite Burton Cummings song ever.

He said this song was written after he walked into a church in New York during a bad winter storm. And even though he is personally not religious, some force took over his entire being and it scared the shit out of him. He didn't know what it was, and he is not particularly saying it was God himself but whatever it was, he was scared.

He wrote this song while he was still with the Guess Who and when he played it for them they said it was crap. It is something h hasn't fully gotten over to this day.

I love this song for even though I am not religious myself but I am open to having a spiritual experience. I've been scared of the unknown before.

Bon Jovi – Thank You For Loving Me Lyrics 14 years ago
I remember my Dad saying, "Thank you for loving me" during a dark time in our lives. He doesn't like Bon Jovi so I really felt he meant it when he said that to me.

I remember hearing somewhere this is Jon singing to his wife Dorothea. Not surprised if its true :)

Bon Jovi – Something To Believe In Lyrics 14 years ago
I almost feel like they're putting up a mask to keep everyone around them happy and to avoid conflict. They may not believe in X because they believe in Y. But for the sake of avoiding conflict they'll pretend to believe in X for the people around them. Yup, sounds like putting on a mask

Bon Jovi – Something To Believe In Lyrics 14 years ago
They insist they were in a happy time when the album was made. The album says otherwise but I always hear that they were as happy as can be when it was made. Guess we gotta take their word for it.

Bon Jovi – If I Can't Have Your Love Lyrics 14 years ago
I can't help but feel this was Richie singing to Heather back when they were married. Since they've been divorced, I don't think Richie has ever been the same.

It is still a beautiful song

Bon Jovi – Keep The Faith Lyrics 14 years ago
80s? *facepalm* Try 1992.

Anywhoozle, song is pretty self explanatory. Wasn't this song written during a recession as well? Would probably explain the gist of the entire album

Bon Jovi – Edge Of A Broken Heart Lyrics 14 years ago
You obviously got to this before I did, haha. I was going to explain it, but pretty much everything you wrote sums it up perfectly. Still a fantastic song

Bon Jovi – Dry County Lyrics 14 years ago
I live in Alberta, Canada and i'm counting down the days where we're out of oil. Then we're screwed. Not to mention we're so frickin dry all the time. Literally the snow was gone for a two weeks and suddenly we have fires all over the place. I can't help but think of my province's turmoil when I listen to this song.

Beautiful song that gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it nonetheless.

Bon Jovi – Diamond Ring Lyrics 14 years ago
PFFT forget the song, this entire album is underrated. Easily some if their best writing is within the These Days album. This song is no exception. I bet it would help if they performed more of their music that don't happen to be just singles.

If I was a stalker, this would be my theme song

Grand Funk Railroad – Gimmie Shelter Lyrics 14 years ago
I actually prefer this version over Rolling Stones version. Was never a big fan of the Rolling Stones anyways.

Anywho, obviously written during the Vietnam War era so I could see it being their "generation's national anthem"

Still a great song no matter who does it

Grand Funk Railroad – Bad Time Lyrics 14 years ago
Even though I clearly knew it was about Mark Farner separating from his wife. And yet I could help but think of pedophilia when I hear the lyric:

"Cause I still love the little girl, i'm talking about"

Then later on explaining that they picked a bad time to be in love. I hate how I totally perverted a song I love so much. Still great song
