I'm actually been going through this situation that I love this guy for so long it's just that I'm not sure if he likes me back... I kept on pushing him away because I wasn't ready to be with anybody yet.. and neither do I want him to be close to him like a friend because I know want more than that.. it's like all or nothing.. and it's been 4 years, and now he just got a girlfriend last November. |

I strongly believe that the 1st persona of the song is really God, "I'll hold your hand when you are feeling mad at me" -- 'cause people sometimes get mad at Him, He STILL choose to stay with us even if our hearts are stumbling upon the things that are happening inside our world. "Yeah when the monsters they won't go And your windows don't close I'll pretend to see what you see" -- this shows His UNCONDITIONAL love for his people... The "monsters" are the devils, and the "windows" represents us that are being "open" for the "monsters" to come inside our lives, "pretend to see what you see" means He's still patient with us in spite of our "imperfection" and "unholiness". “How long?” I say, how long" -- this the QUESTION lingers on our minds pertaining to the SECOND COMING of God. "Will you relive the things that are gone? -- "relive the things that are gone" Many of us keeps on "reliving" from our past, being "sinful", being attach to sin before we know Christ. Romans 8:19-21 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. "Yeah when the muscles in our legs Aren't used to all the walking" -- I believe that the "walking" is basically all the hard works (being frustrated) he has been doing through restraining from all the "worldly" freedom, "aren't use to all the walking" I believe that the writer says this because he was too attached to his "old self" before he repented his sins to God. "I know if you could snap both your fingers That you'd escape with me" -- the writer says that God can "take him" anytime He wants... "But in the meantime I'll just wait here And listen to you when you speak… or scream" -- God waits for us to come inside his Kingdom, and like us we are all waiting to see Him face to face, because this is all we are living for, serving Him, but "in the meantime" He'll be listening to our "cry", "desperation", and "longing" while we are waiting to see Him. --------------------------------------------- "The truth cuts us and pulls us back up And separates the things that look the same" --- The TRUTH represents the WORD OF GOD, that "cuts us", "circumcised people of God", and "pulls us back up" from being thrown in HELL. "And separates the things that look the same" meaning, God separates us from our old self, before we became "born again" "new creation" 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! "You can fight it off You can fight it off, you can" -- Through the Knowledge of Christ, and Divine Wisdom, we can now "fight it off" the devils awful temptations. |

This song is really about war, the coming war... and about God, "Say when And my own two hands will comfort you Tonight, tonight Say when And my own two arms will carry you Tonight, tonight" God is telling us that He will be with us in times of "chaos" He will fight for the nations who believe in Him, and He also be the one who will rescue the people who will be persecuted by the war. "Maybe God can be on both sides Of the gun, never understood why Some of us never get it so good, so good" This is really about he LAST WAR when God will rescue those who love Him. "I'm coming back and you just don't know when You want to cry but there's nothing coming" But will never see Him literally, 'cause you know, He's a big big God... but we will feel Him as He will "carry us" from the ground. But nobody knows when will the end time comes.... I think the writer wrote this song to interpret his feelings towards the Last War coming... But he's afraid that he'll lost his faith to God for he is being "shaken" by the world. Say When -- 'he also dictates the signs of the end times... "Now we're here and it turns to chaos Hurricanes coming all around us Another crack throws you back from the window You stay low" cause in 1 Thessalonians 5:2 says "for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night." In my own opinion, this song is not JUST typical break-up song. He wanted to break-up before they both become ATTACH to each other. I only signed up to this site just to explain this. It's not about Chad people, it is really about Josh, they have been too complicated with each other, actually, Hayley wrote this song when she and Josh gave it up to be together and find their selves in separate ways.. like Hayley&Chad, then Josh got married to Jenna... it's really about Josh people. "think of me when you're out there" it explains a lot... Hayley is aware of the Farro brothers are leaving the band right after BNE. |
