Like what Edoh said... LP... the meaning of the whole album (reinstating what Edoh said but more detailed) is he met a girl in Japan. "Orange Shirt" he has a crush on her and spoke with her through Google. (Orange Shirt could also be taken as if its her point of view because it talks about a person with a straw in mouth and an orange Lacoste shirt. Also the male usually does all the going around and he would be the one to take the train instead of a woman. Also it says I've got a crush more of a feminine thing than a male thing, but hey its whatever) LYRIC CORRECTION FOR ORANGE SHIRT (its "...you love talking fast, and every sound that I hear from your mouth is so deliberate..." i believe because she carefully considered what she was going to say [though it does sound like Cats] and also because he looked at his clock) In "Osaka Loop Line" its not a definite of who saw who but one of them saw the other and tried to catch their eye but was unsuccessful because the other was not looking. (also because of the crowd) From their perception they may have thought they were looking ahead when really the other was asleep. He can't get her off his mind in "Can You Discover." He then asked her out in "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend." I think they break up in "So Insane." Its as if he falls to his knees because he feels like he wants to break up. He can't explain it because at the end its a mix of: "I don't know what to do" and "i do know what to do." I guess it goes to her side in "Swing Tree" and how simple it would be to be a boy. (Only because in the background it repeats "If I was a boy") She then thinks of how people all have their boyfriends and they drive off with them but she is left alone to walk by herself in "Carby." It switches again to his perspective most definitely because in "I Want You Back" he says "...let me show you girl..." In this song he explains what happened he says clearly "when i hacked into myself i didn't want you around," but he makes up his mind that he wants her back. Now in "Its Not My Fault (Its My Fault)" I believe she is having difficulties with him because he keeps saying its not his fault and sometimes saying its my fault. She doesn't think it will work out but she really wants it to work out. Its looking really bad. Then in "Slang Tang" they have make up sex all day. One of them feels as though they need to get up and wash the sheets because of it. after 3 months of listening to the album this is what I've come up with... IF YOU LIKE MY INTERPRETATIONS GIVE ME A PLUS... AND THANKS FOR READING!!!! (p.s. its very difficult to tell whose point of view is being told) |
