| Lady GaGa – Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| That's exactly how I felt. I argued with my girlfriend who said it was merely a sexy song, but looking at performances and closely at lyrics and at Gaga's character really makes me feel as if her message is less sexual and more "screw the press and haters" | |
| Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Lol they're playing this on Wimbledon, and in a weird way, it fits. | |
| Awolnation – Sail Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Or it could be both... Songs do tend to have multi-meanings, you know.. | |
| Gorillaz – Doncamatic (All Played Out) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| As a HUGE fan of Daley and Damon Albarn and his work, especially Gorillaz, it makes me sad to see them not get on the radios, and see Gorillaz go through (for lack of a better word) issues, and be helpless. Guess the only thing I can do is what Daley says, and dwnload them off iTunes :\ | |
| Red Fang – Wires Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Man, I listened to this in an endless loop for 2 hours. This stuff is the chiz nit. Only Red Fang song I like though.. | |
| Queen – Who Wants To Live Forever Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Honestly, the meaning doesn't matter to me. I just love hearing Mr. Mercury giving it his all, singing his heart out. I don't want to live forever, I just want to hear Freddie do what he does best. | |
| Other Lives – Tamer Animals Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I had no idea who Other Lives was, and if I had had to guess, I would've thought they were a screamo band. This is not the case however, and they are one of the best bands I've ever heard, and this is my favorite song of theirs, period. | |
| Coldplay – Charlie Brown Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Or was it Peanuts himself? hmm... | |
| Coldplay – Charlie Brown Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| And the voice at the beginning is like the bird that hangs out with Peanuts! | |
| John Legend – Someday Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think you messef up in two spots, but this is the only one I can think of off the top of my head: "I believe there is more to life Oh i love you much more than life ITSELF" Might not be right, but that's just what i hear when I listen to it. |
|
| Coldplay – Charlie Brown Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| To me, the meaning of the song IS Charlie Brown. Doesn't anybody else think that it sounds at least a bit like the theme song? And the piano at the end, doesn't that sound like that one song during the Christmas special they play once a year on ABC Family? I honestly can't stop listening to Mylo Xyloto, and whenever I think I've had enough, I just turn on Charlie Brown or Up w/ the Birds, and then I'm like' "Just one more playthrough..." | |
| Journey – Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I've loved this song since the first time I heard it, but I had forgotten the title. And a few months ago, here I am watching Tron: Legacy and whaddya know? Separate Ways by Journey and Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics, two of the best songs by the two of the best bands ever. I almost cried. | |
| Santana – Nothing At All Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| i was actually surprised rob thomas wasn't in this CD, especially since he wrote (or helped write) this song & "You Are My Kind" with Seal. But beggars can't be choosers, and both songs are great, so i can't complain. | |
| Owl City – Fireflies Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This is really just one of those songs where it can have tons of meanings, which is why so many people love it, including me. Besides, the meaning of a song is just the way the listener interprets it. Owl City could've just been drunk the whole time it was written (I hope they weren't). | |
| Owl City – Fireflies Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| That's what my grandma said this was about when she heard it. She's been studying Astral Projection and says she's capable of doing it (whatever "it" is). It seems to me like it's more of a thing where the narrator hasn't slept for days and is finally seeing dreams and is also awake at the same time (kinda like "Nightmmare on Elm Street" w/o the nightmare), but I can see why people would think this had to do with OBE and stuff like that. | |
| Alexander Rybak – Europe's Skies Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
This is a song originally written in Russian, and it has a completely different meaning. I would've loved to type the Russian version but I unfortunately don't speak or read the language. However, here is the translation of the Russian lyrics: "Heaven in Europe" by Alexander Rybak Again in the way the sky is calling heart in the chest the violin sings and walking along the boulevards capitals songs of my love w/o borders london, osio, berlin, moscow I sing and live for you europes skies are crying rain that means you're still waiting for me far far away day and night my heart is in the sky, your cities and countries like the movies i wear a backpack behind was the music of my fate heart flies behind her warsaw to kiev and amsterdam i give my heart to you. europes skies are crying rain that means you're still waiting for me far far away day and night my heart is in the sky, your repeat of course this translation doesn't make any grammatical sense, but you can easily rearrange the words and fill in the blanks. These lyrics also make the music video make more sense. I think it has more meaning in the Russian, version, honestly. Both lyrics are good, though. |

| Michael Jackson – Whatever Happens Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| However; this song is on my list of all-time favorites (which is pretty small) and I can see myself listening to this 20 years from now, still never tiring of Carlos and Michael's masterpiece. The lyrics tell a great story, and the music tells another good story w/o them as well. They both put their heart into this (just like they do in all their other ones), which made "Whatever Happens" even greater. Kudos, MJ and Mr. Santana. | |
| Michael Jackson – Whatever Happens Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| you left out "she can't stay in the room" in the 1st verse, man. THATS MY FAVRIT VERSE AND YOU FORGOT ONE OF THE BEST PARTS:( | |
| Lenny Kravitz – Can We Find a Reason? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| and don't even get me started on wars. | |
| Lenny Kravitz – Can We Find a Reason? Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think how it's strange how artists have been writing songs like this, telling you to make a change, or at least to change yourself, for 50 years (I decided to start with "While my guitar gently weeps", even tho there's tons more songs like this before the 60's) yet the world is still the same. It's obvious because artists are still writing about it. I don't care when this song came out, its amazing, and its practically yelling in people's ears "DON'T RUIN OUR WORLD", but look where we are. Everybody's still procrastinating when it comes to using alternative energy. For example: Somebody says, "I'm not going to use solar energy because its expensive and only works in the day time." (I'm quoting a real person, by the way.) Obviously, alternative energy sources are going to be expensive because NOBODY IS USING THEM. It'll get cheaper when people actually use it. Don't just sit ther and wait, because that's what your neighbor's doing, and that's what their cousin's doing, and that's what their cousin's fifth cousin is doing, and on and on and on. And also, when it cmoes to the solar energy only working in the day, I had a project in school where we had to design a house that uses solar energy and can still run at night. I suggested using candles, and handheld fans, and BOOKS instead of some crazy alternative energy powered T.V. I got a B+, so I must've done sometihing right. Oh, and this song is epic. I've listened to it twice in the past three minutes. yeah, I know that it's five minutes long, so that's impossible, but it's not. I did it. And I should probably vent about problems w/ the environment in my journal. Oh well. It's not like anybody will read this or anything. |

| Owl City – Fireflies Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
The awesome thing about this song is that as you get older and you look back at the song it makes even more sense than it did before. Like poetry, some lines in this song you can't truly understand until you've experienced something along the lines of what the writer was writing about, and once you do, it just opens your eyes every time you hear it even though you've listened to this song ten times a day trying to figure out what it means. I don't do that, of course, I just know people who... Fine, yes, I did that. But only for a week. Or three. |

| Matchbox Twenty – How Far We've Come Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
What amazes me is how when I listen to almost any o Rob Thomas and Matchbox Twenty's songs it still has the same effect as it did years ago. This song isn't going to fade (at least i hope it won't) because it reminds everyone to open their eyes to what's going on in the world. There are so many, not exactly hidden, but not really obvious, messages in this song that all come together to remind you: life is real. Yeah, it sounds stupid, but it's all I got. What I especially like about Matchbox's writing in the song is how this person reacts like any normal person would, instead of one of those songs where everyone goes crazy and start to eat and rape each other. You feel kind of like you're narrating the song, and it helps you get what they're trying to say. And the rockhard feel to it always helps a Matchbow Twenty song become one of my favorites. |
