The first verse "protect our asses...protect our amps" reminds me heavily of the Lord's Prayer. Perhaps it is the way it is sung but I immediately associated those words with the prayer when I first heard the song. I think I'll say these words to myself whenever I'm on the road or about to go on stage. In a way, the song is musician's prayer asking for protection from the path other bands took with drugs and life. |
