Wanna know the beauty about this all? Music is open to interpretation. Someone could take it as it is about mayday parade, or as Jason clearly said its about his step-mother. But the song still has the same core to it. That hurt of betrayal. For me personally i use this song and Thanks For Nothing to fit the situation of two bestfriends that fell apart when one commits an unforgivable act of betrayal. |

Music is open for interpretation, so to each his own. For me it's like a sour friendship... I'm burned out like a bright light, I wasn't ready for this. You're adorable as hell, but I'm glancing at your wrist. Oh please have faith, I can be so cavalier. And when they start to ask questions I'll make sure to be clear. The singer feels as if he's at the end of the line, it's over. He loves his friend, he truly does, but he's conflicted by the scars on her wrist.(her way of dealig with her pain which, without her communicating left the friendship to fall to pieces. He realizes that she needs him, but he's still conflicted. He lets her know that he will always be there for her. When you see my friends, tell them hi for me. Tell them what you think about the way you handled everything. You turned and all you left me with was this broken key. So tell me what you think. So when their friends start to ask questions he wants HER to tell them that it's her fault, that he put in his effort and she didn't. He wants her to admit that she was wrong, and she left him more broken than she. Give it up for the long nights and all those terrible fights. Were you honest with yourself, every version of yourself? Did you get lost on the side of the road? If you keep acting this way I swear I'll never come home. he wants her to remember the friendship they had and the fights that came with it.
