I could see how someone might take this religiously, but it probably wasn't written to be that way. If you want to think of that when you listen, though, I think that's perfectly fine!
It was most likely meant to be a song about someone you love very dearly who helps bring you back down to Earth when everything is just going crazy. And this person sees you and loves you for who you are, even though others might not do the same, they make you feel wonderful about yourself. I think it's so cute. It could definitely be talking about a relationship (and such a cute one, at that. I wish all relationships were like that, haha), but I like to think of it in a friendship kind of way. This whole album is pretty much about love, and the songs are all very cute. I'm not in a relationship, though, so when I listen, I think about a certain friend of mine who, when I'm crying and stressing out all the time and everything's just spinning around me and I feel lost a lot - etc etc etc, I look for her, and she always calms me down and helps me look at things clearly. She helps me to breathe and she loves me for who I am and that makes me so happy. I adore this song, really. It has a lot of memories attached to it for me :) |

I don't really understand the meaning of the song, but I guess it is about how she's kind of a dreamer and off in her own world. But the moral of the song sounds like it must be that lyric, "I want you to see beneath everything You're no different than me No matter the language we speak." maybe she means that no matter who you are everyone escapes to their own world once in a while? I don't really know. I wish someone would comment on this amazing song who really gets the meaning, I wonder why there aren't any comments D: |

geez why do you guys need to be such a holes about it? music is meant to be interpreted however it reaches you personally, I mean that's why music is so amazing, am I right? I'm not religious so I personally like to look at this song as about someone he's in love with. (I'd like to disagree that the words "I have been made new" can't be used to explain what someone has done for you other than God. I've definitely been made new by the woman I'm in love with). HOWEVER, I recognize the song was originally about God, that's what he wrote it for. If when you listen to it you feel some power being shined upon you from God and His love or something go ahead and experience it that way. If you listen to it and think of someone you're in love with and feel a warmth in your heart thinking of the love they brought you and how they made you new, then there. Think of it that way. But it's meant to be however you want to take it and interpret it. So don't say immature things like "Now try to tell me that it's not about God!". I think God Himself would be pretty disappointed in you for that one, friend. |
