This song just came up on my iTouch, one of my fiance's favorite artists, he unfortunately passed away in June of this year from complications from leukemia (cancer) and even though he was in the hospital for the past 5 months before he passed he tried to put on a brave face and it did "kill me" to see him be so strong and graceful when all wanted to do is take everything away and knowing that there was nothing I could do also killed me. He told me the same thing, being there w/ him in the hospital, bringing him whatever he asked to eat, watching movies on the computer, and just listening helped him, but it felt and still feels like it wasn't enough. Now that he has passed, this line is haunting: "I wanna trust the pulse In which decay is followed by bloom And I'm sure any flaw will turn out beautiful" There is no pulse, only decay, so now I wait for the bloom and to try and see the beauty in the flaw. The flaw to me was his cancer, the only beauty I see is that he is no longer suffering. I do hope your boyfriend feels better, I know what it is to watch someone depressed and dying in front of you.
