@[gingermick:33245] In the UK, Mallory made 'Duracell' batteries which were extra long life electric cells - again, it ties in to the android dimension that everyone else has mentioned.

A woman realises her career in the warrior caste of musicians is going nowhere and wisely walks away. And if you don't think that's a happy ending, ask Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse or Billie Holliday. |

Sung at 38000 feet in 1980 by a plane full of Air Cadets coming back from annual camp in Cyprus. That's a high note. :)

The finest song about your friendly neighbourhood knicker thief ever written. The second is Arnold Layne by Pink Floyd.
I'm proud to live in a world where this very specific perversion has not one but two songs devoted to it. Does anyone know of a third? |

@[EnduringChill:5273] Apparently the real Birmingham AL has a ice-making plant fairly close to the city centre. Don't know if it's a dry ice plant but I've heard it's a good place to get some thinking done... |

An exasperated brother chases down his runaway sister while a controlling mother looks on, bro not realising that while he looks for sis he is falling for the big city life.
What a wordsmith Jackson is that he can get all that into three minutes and a bridge. Deserves to be a film. |

It's about a female opera singer in 1960s Vienna running into the commandant of the concentration camp she was confined in during the war and resuming the sado-masochistic relationship they had then, with the roles slightly reversed.
It looks tame nowadays but was the last word in sleaze when it came out, a little undeservedly perhaps. The song kind of maps to the movie, at least in mood. IMO. |
