Whoever tried to work out the lyrics to this one is brave... I agree with Ieatfoodokayguy that the lyrics aren't of great importance.. the emotion and desperation in his amazingly strange, strung out, tired, child-retard vocal stylings are all you need to get where he's at. When once asked to play it live he said "i wrote the song in new york. i can't remember how to play it. i was on drugs".
However, i think i can fill in the blank in the lyrics - where it says 'drops into?' - I think he's saying "drops its head." |

I like the lyrics better when the first line is 'one year went by, baby' .. Its hard to tell if that's what he's saying though. to me this is a very sad, elliptical fragment... his desperate intoning of 'cmon' probably says more than any of the other lyrics |
