"as for heroine, i doubt it, trent wrote the lyrics in like 5 mins. with the guitar line and the rest came in the next 10 mins." Trent was addicted to drugs, and even thought it might not be heroine it still is easy to relate the song to drug addiction. This song is said to be one of Trents favorites, and seem highly personal. |

I belive this to be the truth - its about heroin and how he lets everybody around him down. "I will let you down, I will make you hurt." He can't repair it. The song-writer is addicted to drugs, this is most likely about his life and his struggle. |

Great song - Love that you post your memories and feelings about the song - but is nobody going to attempt an interpretation of the song? Its pretty much self-explanatory I guess - he's found "the" girl hes been waiting for all his life. Lovely song, one of the greatest, happiest love songs I know of. <3 |

It's pretty self-explanatory when you listen to the song - but as "inthenewyear" mentioned, it definetly gives more meaning considering its coming from a black male in the early 70's. Great song none the less, lyrics that we all can relate to no matter race or gender. |
