Morning Parade – Under The Stars Lyrics 13 years ago
I'm first out on this song appearently!

I think this song is about a person "rehabbing someone" from drugs or something else that's bad. A lot of lines point to the fact that he or she is helping someone:
"I'm gonna set your soul
Alight"

and

"To the breaking of the day
In the morning you'll decay
A little"

People that go to rehab often say that it's the hardest in the morning, because that's usually when you used to take your first dose of drugs.

"We've let a lifetime come undone
Staring straight into the sun
Like the barrel of a gun
Under the stars"

It says that they've been wrong for a long time (doing drugs) and that's it's really dangerous and a near death-experience (staring straight into the sun, the barrel of a gun).

"Been waiting my whole life
For you to come and waste a while
In the dark
In the emptiness of time and space"

I don't really understand this but I think it could be that you've been waiting for a while for this person to take the step and actually stop using drugs.

"Been going out my mind
I gotta bring you back
To life
You and your heart
You and your healthy heart"

This is the part that really points out that someone is helping another person over his drug addictions, 'gotta bring you back to life' and also that although the person used drugs, he's still got a healthy heart.

"You know you look so tired
You're gonna stay up late
Tonight
Under the stars"

That someone looks tired and worn-out from the drugs, and that you'll probably have a fucked up sleeping schedule that makes you stay up late.

I think Under The Stars is a fictional place and that the person who wrote it only pictures this in their head, it's not going to happen for real because the person that's using drugs doesn't want to get help or is just simply too far down the wrong road to get help.

Boys Like Girls – The Great Escape Lyrics 13 years ago
It's about leaving a place that you hate behind and leaving with a person you're close to. That you simply don't care what other have to say about your departure (the great escape).
Just before you leave you have to do all the things that you never did in that place, (make peace with an empty town, we can make it right) and that you don't have to be afraid about the consequences because you'll leave anyways. (throw it away, forget yesterday and the answer's that we'll never find, they don't mean a thing tonight and watch it burn, let it die, cause we are finally free tonight).

This song (and kids in love by Mayday Parade) was one of the most played songs on a roadtrip I went on one summer and it's basically one of those "let's get out of here" songs.

Metro Station – Seventeen Forever Lyrics 14 years ago
Has anybody thought about how this can relate to someone's self harming?
See the parts of;
'This is wrong but who am I to judge,
you feel like heaven when we touch' - It relates perfectly to selfharming. It feels like heaven when you do it, and it's wrong but you don't judge yourself.
'I guess for me this is enough' - Selfharming is a way of wanting to hurt yourself but not so badly that you commit suicide.
'We're one mistake from being together' - Being one with the selfharm = commiting suicide.
'Let's not ask why it's not right' - When you selfharm you don't really want to question yourself and look at yourself from another persons eyes that would only judge you cause that this is not right.
'You wont be seventeen forever' - You wont be in this stage forever, you will get over self harming and get a life after it.
'And we can get away with this tonight' - The self harming is easy to cover up, so that means it's easy to get away with. Also most of the time when you self harm it's at night because lonely persons are up at night.
'You are young and I was scared' - The self harming is young, so that means it's new. And when something is new you're scared of it. See it says WAS scared, that the self harming has grown on him/her and that it's not that you're not scared anymore.
'And I can feel your heartbeat, you know exactly where to take me' Selfharming gives a rush that I'm not able to describe, and it makes you feel bette for a while. It knows exactly what to do with you to make you feel better.
'Will you remember me? You ask me as I leave, remember what I said - oh how could I forget?' The scars of self harming will always be there, so it's not ilke you'll forget it (how could I forget). Also the self harming has such an addiction on people that it kind of calls you back when you try to stop.

I've loved this band since 2007 and I decided to post this first 4 years after I heard this because I had the time to figure it out. This song has helped me through so much that I got a tattoo that says seventeen forever to remind me that I wont be seventeen forever and that I will get through this. This band changed my life, and no matter the break-up, they're always my favorite band. Metro Station forever.
