The Flaming Lips – What Is the Light? Lyrics 12 years ago
Yeah, the lyrics are for Buggin, and not What is the Light? .. :(

uh, I don't think It's about drugs. I believe it to be about love, and sex. The 2006 re-release had this addition to the song title:
What Is the Light? (An Untested Hypothesis Suggesting That the Chemical [In Our Brains] By Which We Are Able to Experience the Sensation of Being in Love Is the Same Chemical That Caused the "Big Bang" That Was the Birth of the Accelerating Universe)

The feelings and emotions you have to anything really are chemically derived, it's still natural in that it comes from within you however. In any case, I feel like it's a pretty beautiful thing to be happy after feeling love or after having sex with someone you love and then carry around a glow all day.

The Flaming Lips – Worm Mountain Lyrics 14 years ago
When you try
You will see
When you fail
You will be
Up on the mountain
But down in a hole
Only nature
Has control

When you run
You will hear
Through the mist
A bell rings clear
But the ring
Is just a sound
Of your starburn
Burning out

On the mountain
Way up high
There are worms
With diamonds eyes
When you squeeze them
It makes a light
Through the forest
When you're blind

The way I look at this song, I find that this is about trying, failing, and getting back up again.

When you succeed and meet your goals it's like you're on top of a mountain that you climbed up. When you fail you're "up on the mountain, but down in a hole" meaning you're close to the top of the mountain or you're still nearby but you've fallen deep into this hole of failure. I think the depth of the hole can only be controlled by nature and outside circumstances. So you can give it your all but the consequences of failure may not always be in your control.

So down in this hole are worms (which probably aren't very pleasant). It's generally not a good place to be but if you look at the worms carefully they have these diamond eyes that shine and make a light that help you see the path that will lead you out of the hole. I think the diamond eyes refers to how failure can be a positive learning experience also. Like I said, a hole with worms might not seem like a good place to be, but if you look carefully at the worms and suck it up, you can get out of the hole.

All the second stanza says is that if you run through the mist and aim blindly for success, you might feel as though success is really close to you but instead it's just the sound of whatever that's guiding you or your "light" (starburn) going out. Then you're lost and you're bound to trip and fall into that hole.
