To me, their relationship is changing. Maybe they broke up and he may have said to her "I can see us being together, just not right now. " and she held onto those words, and suddenly he is moving on to another girl, and she is confused as to whether he led her on or if she misunderstood what he was really saying. She looks back and says that things were good and great and they were happy, and now a week later they are a mess..
I dont know, that is my interpretation, this song strikes home to me for many reasons... |

I first heard this song earlier this week. My ex boyfriend and I were on a trip together, waiting in the hotel room to go to our concert, I kept saying we had to leave and he said "one more song". He put this one on.. Atfirst I didnt listen and just walked away. But when I came back he said "listen" and when "Love has been waiting, patient and kind." part came on, he says "Doesnt this sound familiar?" through the rest of the song. I began to cry slightly. The next morning on the way home he listened to the song several times more and when I asked him why he liked it so much, he replied with "It makes me think of us". He broke up with me, has shut me out at times, but I have continued to hold onto our love and onto him. I have been patient, and I have waited, and I continue to wait for him. My love is unconditional, and he knows that. He is reckless, wild, and a mess. But I always return back to him no matter what. I believe this song is just that. Love holds onto him and their relationship. It doesnt matter how far away she goes, how distant and reckless he gets, she always returns to him, and she always waits for him. And in the end, he apologizes for doing that to her and comes home as well, and together they are happy. |

I agree with you 100%. This song hits home to me and is EXACTLY what I am going through with my guy. I have pushed him. He has left. He gave me reasons to not trust him and he tried and tried to make it work but finally is depleted by my demands/and my constant accusations. After cheating he tried to make things work but I was still insecure in our relationship. Now we are spending time apart..but I know he will be back. We have an incredible relationship beyond what has come between us in the past, and I am ready to move on from that and trust him. I know how upset he is that I hurt him by saying he doesnt care or that I dont trust him..because he is always trying to show me that I can.. |
