| This song has also been defined by Maynard. He had a friend who came out of a 12 Step program acting all high and mighty about being able to kick his addiction. Through this song Maynard asks him if he could act the same way and talk the same around those unable to kick addictions and those who have died because of them. | |

This song, and others, was thoroughly explained on the DVD which came with the special edition of the album. Maynard wrote this song about his mother. She was paralyzed after having a stroke, and saw it as God "testing her faith". She would belittle him for being an atheist and ask "Look at what happened to me, I kept my faith! You're NORMAL, why can't you believe?" This song is his response to her. "It's not like you killed someone It's not like you drove a hateful spear into his side Praise the one who left you broken down and paralyzed He did it all for you" |
