personally, i think this song is either to God or his father. but i feel like the first line wouldn't be right in a song about God. idk it might just be me. anyway, i think this song is about a dad who picked mat up and encouraged him when he was facing challenges both in his personal life and as a musician. "Your love without condition Kept me swinging when I'm missing My eyes upon the prize Kept me striving for the mission When I was down for the count, falling out of commission I can hear you voice now screaming out "son, listen" Get on up, don't give up, though you struck opposition Time to buck all that stuff, find out what's you condition Like a pull in my soul, like keys in my ignition Call you all my commission, my love and my vision" this verse hit me hard because it reminds me of my own dad, which may explain why i think the way i do about the song. regardless of whether it's about the love of an earthly or Heavenly Father, it's a great song |

| Bob Dylan – Restless Farewell Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| i think it has more to do than telling a lover you're moving on. it sounds almost like a suicide note, telling everyone, whether they liked him or not, that he's not sorry for anything he's done. 'profound' is the best word i can use to describe this song | |
| Common Market – Trouble Is Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| in the music video, there's a preacher talking about how hard work and labor is the road to salvation then he pounds the pulpit screaming 'no free rides!' i think this song is about Scion not being accepted by his community for his perceived lethargy. "trouble is, love don't want you here" could mean that, despite their heavy Christian faith in the small town, the people will still reject someone who doesn't reflect their views | |
