| Lua means moon in Portuguese, and in the song the evening/moonlight is a time of illusion, a time when the narrator lulls his sadness and loneliness with drugs. In the moonlight it's simple, or in other words, under the influence of the moonlight it is simple. So, when you interpret it that way, the title means "the illusion" or "the drugs" I hope that clears up the title questions. | |

I feel in love with Gotye's voice and once I read the lyrics I was completely addicted, this song describes what I went through with my only ex. I can relate to all of the verses perfectly right to the point. Not to mention Kimbra's part, which gives it another point of view which I love about this song. In the chorus, I love how he lifts his voice and you hear the emotion. My favorite lyric in this whole song is: "And I don't even need your love but you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough" In my case my ex broke up with me, and I was completely ok with it, because we were better off as friends and it really didn't hurt me and I didn't think he would hurt over leaving me, I tried to be friends with him but I didn't work out, he didn't want anything to do with me and he started screwing with me(as in hurting me probably so I would back off) and that's when I started to hurt, just knowing that I lost him completely, even if I didn't need his love. I can relate to the whole song perfectly, which is why i love it so much, I spent time looking for a song that I could relate to when it comes to my ex. I guess I found it. |

This song can have diffrent meanings, as for the "lazy eye" can be taken metaphorically or literally. I relate to the literal meaning of the song. Because it's how one feels with this imperfection and I get it 100%. I am so glad I found this song. The metaphorical meaning is about a one sided relationship, why? because "Lazy eye" in this meaning means focusing on someone else. |

| Funny i came here to look at opinions of people's diffrent points of views and meanings and it ticks me off a bit that i see a bunch of negative remarks against avril, no offense to those who dont like her, everyone has their diffrent likes and yeah i know avril isn't punk, she's kinda pop, but there's nothing bad about that it's good music, i listen almost every kind genere and songs with good lyrics, it's a bit close minded saying that this is crap cause it isnt punk, btw this isn't entiryly pop cause it has a little guitar in it given it a little rock feel so its rock pop, and the lyrics aren't trash, bad lyrics would be friday from rebecca black, now that's horrible. So what's with all the poser crap?! everyone likes diffrent music, end of story, i used to listen to avril lavinge when i was younger, and i forgot i had her CDs ive been looking for a song that describes my situation with my ex-bf and this is the only song that goes perfectly, so thank you avril. | |
