| Trivium – Kirisute Gomen Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I'm surprised no one's mentioned what Kirisute Gomen actually means. Yes, it was used to strike someone down in feudal Japan from Samurai but it actually translates basically an apology for killing you. Gomen means "Sorry" |

| Shining (NOR) – Fisheye Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Hm... the only thing I can make of this is that most of the numbers featured here are prime, yet at the end, it switches the last two to composite. Though, I don't think that's the real meaning here. In Jewish culture, the Hebrew language is made up of letters, obviously. But to each of these letters is a numerical equivalent. They repeatedly mention God, the Devil, a few references to Adam and Even and other references not only to the Bible but to the Kabbalah as well. I'm guessing whoever wrote the song is really into religious lore. Wonderful song but confusing as fuck as I have no idea what the actual word "Fisheye" has to do with anything here :P |

I have... no fucking clue what to make of this song. O.O Bad relationships with a slutty person? Going insane with jealousy and letting madness take over? I have no clue XD Great song and great band though :D |

| Devin Townsend – Ants Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Considering Dev was diagnosed as bipolar at this time and was off his meds, this song could very well just be nonsensical rambling... ... however, the only thing I can make from this (I can't understand what the hell he's saying in the song) but from the lyrics I would guess consumerism is people's way for filling the gaps in their lives caused by loneliness. And yes, Zimmil, when people dream of/hallucinate of ants, it's commonly held that their alone or at least feel that way. It's suggested it's because ants are almost always in groups and that a person longs for that but that's only my theory. Anyway, more to the song, it just seems like a bunch of ridiculous sounds and lyrics thrown together when just listening to it, but analysing it, it definitely sounds like it's about being lonely and that we buy pointless shit to distract us from feeling that way. |

| Devin Townsend – Christeen Lyrics | 14 years ago |

This is only my own interpretation but to me... this song is about acceptance and manifestation. It sounds like Devin here is talking about (to) someone who not only dislikes themselves and thinks they're unworthy of happiness but also won't admit they have a problem. The lines "Say you love me, say you love yourself" is obviously about self appreciation. Then comes the line "Loving what anyone else would loathe here" to me, means accepting all your flaws as a part of yourself. The whole bits about "Say you love/want me" I think is reassurance to the self that this person is worthy and deserving of love. And then, what line made me think that's what this is all about, "We know and we're feeling so much better than before" which could mean Devin's talking about accepting himself and feeling better for it and that the feeling doesn't "fail" anymore. Just my thoughts, anyway. Could be my mindset but this one song of his that speaks to me most, or at least close to it. Perfect for when you're feeling down about yourself. Always lifts my mood ^_^ |

| Voltaire – Almost Human Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Obviously about Lucifer but I feel like this song (and that general story) can be applicable to other aspects of life. Feeling cast out for no good reason. Missing what you can no longer have despite having something else. It's a good song to listen to when angry, I've found. You can really sympathise with Satan XD |

| Wilco – Can't Stand It Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Wow. I heard this lyrics all wrong. I thought he was saying "It's our beginning" not "It's all beginning" and I didn't even catch the God's love bit. I always assumed most of this album referred to relationships and we deal with them as they go on, and with this song, I thought he was talking about how we struggle to find someone who will accept us, but as we find them, grow to love them and eventually grow apart, it feels horrible but with the line "it's funny how we make new friends" made me think of how we move on with new people. But it seems I was way off with that. XD Still a great song ^_^ |

| Dido – Mary's In India Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I agree completely with Smiley up there but I think this song can really apply to anyone trying to get over a relationship in their life with someone they loved dearly. It may be a personal story, of course, but the message of the song itself can be shared and used for others in a similar situation. | |
| Devin Townsend – Praise The Lowered Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I agree with Arkturus. I think it goes back to Dev's past drug habits and peer pressure that sometimes (actually, a lot of times) goes with that, hence the "Smoke that weed, boy!" line. |

| Reel Big Fish – Nothin' Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Just like any of their other fucking kick ass songs, it's just all about being pissed off at the world and not giving a shit | |
| Asian Kung-Fu Generation – After dark (TV size) Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Not really sure exactly what they're talking about here, but if the video is anything to go by, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with accepting changes and embracing life, basically rather than rejecting what makes us unique. Or something like that :P |

| Radiohead – Bangers + Mash Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think it's right about the politics thing. The song seems to be referring to the trouble of getting caught by the public doing something... well that you're pretty much not supposed to be doing. Maybe not strictly talking about politicians, but maybe about people in general doing things like this and getting caught. The line "You bit me, now I want more" seems to suggest that they're referring to the fame of it all, and the person's desire for more attention. Just my thoughts though. |

| Devin Townsend – Kawaii Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
This is such a beautiful song from a beautiful album. I'm not entirely sure what the song means, but I can attempt to interpret it. Kawaii in Japanese means multiple things. While usually used to describe something "cute," it's also used to say "Lovely, dear, darling," and in some cases "to love" The song talks about freedom and a "new arrival." I can only imagine this might be a reference to Townsend's past addictions and his freedom from them being "lovely" hence the title. |
