Listen to this song. It's so catchy isn't it? Especially the 'oooh woo ooooh' bits and of course the complementary guitar chords. I honestly think this song was intended for an ad when it was written. I read (on Wikpedia) that Mark worked as a jingle writer for an advertisement company. So he knows what sorts of tunes that people will really grow on, besides the fact that he has a natural talent. Just an interesting piece of FTP trivia I thought was necessary to share with the fans. As for the song meaning, Mark has stated himself during a live acoustic performance that the song describes what it'd be like if '4 year olds ruled the world'. The more I listen to them, the more I grow fond of Foster The People. Can't wait for the next record! |

| A Rocket to the Moon – Where Did You Go? Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Hey there, I love this song! I think those lines mean that she can't look after herself and lacks the judgement on whether it's going to rain or not, but only possesses the basic instinct of survival of knowing when it's cold. This is further described in the chorus when Nick says: "Where did you go, when you...didn't know me. And you never wanted to figure me out." Meaning that he wonders how she survived by herself before she met him and he basically looked after her and to top it off, she had no interest in meeting someone to do those things for her. So in short, a rich girl who doesn't know the responsibility of looking after herself who is selfish and left a 'boring' life with someone who loved her for a life of debauchery. He knows that she will struggle by herself and maybe resents her for leaving him (just a little bit), but he loves and cares for her too much to let go of her and hence, he'll "wait all his life" for her. I hope this explains what you're trying to find out :) Like I said, this is a great song and I love the band! Can't wait for their new album next year. |

this song is probably about a promiscuous girl who wants more from the usual booty calls from this promiscuous guy who she likes. the girl sounds very narcissitic and one of those who'd have you whipped. furthermore, the song is filled with almost amateur rhymes(which makes it sound like it was written by a teenager) but somewhat coherent and lil wayne; man oh man. can somebody tell me why nicki minaj said he was the best rapper in the world? tell you one thing, he's the best at ruining every damn song. his rap was okay, but the moment that ruined the song was his outro. i wish the courts kept you in jail for longer, because you should be indicted for murdering songs and possibly my sanity. |

Does anyone notice that Bill's english accent is impeccable when he sings, but is noticeably german accented when he speaks normally? Anyway, its a great song, pretty self-explanatory. Can someone tell me how accurate the german to english translation is? because the song is so articulate in its message. |

| Julien-k – Kick the Bass Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I saw the music clip and I must say I was in for a ride. I only checked it out for the sake of Chester, but he didn't seem to be a prominent member of the band. In the clip, he was the antagonist, per se, and I think that sets the tone for his role with Julien-k. It seemed as if he was only there for vocals and extra things, but not totally devoted to the noir and nefarious image. Maybe it doesn't match his rocker reputation, rather than a dark grunge sort of thing. Who knows. It's just my interpretation of Chester's role in Julien-k. | |

Someone should put the romaji up It is: mochi agete, tokihanashite If you do translate it, the literal translations are: mochi - hold, agete - all, tokihanashite - release. Now i know it is 'lift me up, let me go' but the best aspect of a concept album, let alone music, is that we can perceive them any way we wish. So my interpretation is that we have everything as a well functioning civilisation, but we're letting it go and compromising them by conflict. Just putting it out there, the interlude is just mesmerising. I can listen to it for days. Definitely one of my favourties in the album. |
