I thought it was about Las Vegas. He said in an interview how he felt home when he see the lights of Las Vegas after working so hard (touring). In another interview, he keeps defending the city, trying to change what people thinks of Las Vegas. I quote Brandon "It hurts my heart". - I watched it somewhere in youtube.

as I understand it, brandon is the receiver here, his bandmates being the actor. We know how Brandon openly talked about other bands in their earlier years and which made bad image for the killers. His openly talking about his ambition being the next U2 heated and mocked by media and fans of other bands. I guessed he is really serious about being one of the greatest band in the world. The last line seems to say, don't push yourself too much, but check your timeline, too. |

It was a rumour... that's why somebody told me. So the girl might not really have a boyfriend that...(chorus). But how should this "somebody" knew that the singer/writer had a girlfriend in February of last year?
17 tracks and I've had it with this game ... i guessed he took some alcohol that's why he was manipulated and believed at the rumour and ruined his night. I think this somebody is the girl's boyfriend. This somebody had observed the singer, i guessed the girl too, but she had that boyfriend(somebody) with him so she did not make any move. |

I watched the live dvd at live at albert royal hall. while singing this, sound like he almost lost it, i think he was in tears (or sweat). he even wipe his eyes. clearly, it is about his parents. But brandon is such an artist that his song will mean differently on different people. |
