Red – Death Of Me Lyrics 14 years ago
I know Mike Barnes is a strong Christian, and we are the bad ones here. Take these lyrics from "You Love Me Anyways' by Sidewalk Prophets: I am the thorn in Your crown But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist But You love me anyway
I am Judas’ kiss But You love me anyway
See now, I am the man who yelled out from the crowd For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking
ground Yes then, I turned away with a smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life
But You love me anyway.
We are the wrong ones here, not God.

I agree with donotbug, though you can see it as what Satan's doing to you. We are tearing ourselves down with sin, and Satan is tricking us into tearing ourselves.

tobyMac – Atmosphere Lyrics 14 years ago
This is an amazing song. Tobymac is looking in the point of view of God, just like in the song "By Your Side" by Tenth Avenue North (if you haven't heard it, listen to it). It goes towards anyone having trouble, as it says I know you keep a journal and every page is rippled From the tears that you cry, ain't no meanin' to your scribble Cause words can't describe what you've been feelin' inside It's like thousand foot walls, and they're still on the rise" and I know it's in the point of view of God because it says "I cannot love a little. My promise to you is unconditional." I love this song!!!!

Toby Mac – Ignition Lyrics 14 years ago
through the line 'jumpstart the heart and wake the sleeper inside' I know that tobymac is comparing our body to a car, because you jumpstart vehicles. "Start is up, turn it on" means wake up your body. "We can ride this storm." We can make it through this world (or pain, or whatever's going on). "We won't stop till we see the morning" means we won't give up until we succeed. The message is sort of like "Before the Morning" by Josh Wilson.
