"I met a better man" - probably a reference to jesus. I think we should look at all her references to jesus differently (if one is not religious or christian like me). jesus is a symbol for love, compassion, respect, forgiveness, etc.With this song she espouses that she wants to make these traits fashionable. put on the fashion of jesus -- style yourself with love, compassion, respect... "Dancing in my revelation Underground pop civilization Concrete poetry to feed my mind Old symbolism was left behind" - LOVE these lines. with them she conveys that she has been able to really dance in her revelation her "black jesus" fashion (love, etc) is becoming a reality--it is concrete poetry to see her little monsters, etc. Old symbolism--old ways of thinking... reference to hatred toward groups of people is beginning to be left |
