| The Black Eyed Peas – Meet Me Half Way Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think it's about two people who once had a meaningful relationship with each other (could be a friendship or more intimate) and overtime there was a disconnect between the two. He's telling her how much he misses her and how he wants her around and she's reaching out to him saying I'm doing my part; meet me half way, and he's claiming he is too (by saying he's willing to travel to all these different, and in some cases exaggerated places to reach her) but really it's a bunch of smoke and mirrors. At one point he even says "Tell me where you wanna meet" as if she hasn't been saying the entire time. | |

Yes, I think you are right acstarkweather. :) Anyway, in the spirit of this site being about song meanings I think it's about two people who are looking for a change and find each other? That's what I get out of it... I find the lyrics about the 'calf' interesting. Maybe it's in reference to her daughter Carol? Just a thought. |

| Thrice – Helter Skelter (The Beatles cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This is probably the best Beatles cover I've ever heard, and I normally hate Beatles' covers. And agreed with the above comments. Amazing live! | |

This song is incredible! But, I'm pretty sure these lyrics are incorrect. I think these are the correct ones: He rolled into Reno with a flat tire and matches All his clothes soaked in fumes Oil and blood were his tools He’d heard a few stories Of premium interest Couldn’t turn his back on it yet He had friends he could hound He didn’t notice the slipping away of something He didn’t hear it until there was no one around She fell into Phoenix, with barely a presence Hard rain followed her onto the highways Her daughter Carol was sleeping and the streetlights were curious Who is this woman who keeps her headlights off? She didn’t notice the slipping away of something She didn’t hear it until there was no one around She said I want to ride out of this valley. Feel the cool wind, of my fate. I know that new fears will begin tomorrow But tonight I’ll think only on the absence of things. ooh ooh... The cool night was weeping a torrent against them She was feeling some remorse as she slid down the road Her pockets were empty and his weren’t that heavy But they both had to run, for something they could nab. She bows for the future, he bows for the calf. He said I want to ride out of this valley. Feel the cool wind of my fate. I know that new fears will begin tomorrow But tonight I’ll think only on the absence of things. I want to ride out of this valley Feel the cool wind of my fate Knowing that I will be everything around me And everything around me will complete me too Knowing that I will be everything around me And everything around me will complete me too... |

Growing up I was involved with a church youth group and would go on the retreats too and that is exactly what this song reminded me of! No one goes on those things to worship God, that's for sure! haha I think your interpretation is spot on! |

| Dead Letter Circus – One Step Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Wow, I can't believe I'm the first comment! This song is awesome! For me it's about the consequences of compromising a relationship for the sake of something else. Maybe someone else? But then I might just see it that way because I can relate with that. | |
| Passion Pit – Sleepyhead Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The first time I heard this song was when they opened up for Muse. We got to the show kinda late and none of us had ever really heard of Passion Pit so we were hanging out at the bar behind the stage while they performed. When they started playing this song I was immediately hooked. It is so catchy and there is something about it that puts me in some kind of fairytale-like state whenever I hear it. It totally soothes my Peter Pan complex. :) I don't really know what the song is about, but that's what it means to me. |

| Rage Against the Machine – Killing In The Name Lyrics | 14 years ago |

So last night while at dinner some friends and I were discussing this song and I had always thought he said "Some of those that work forces are the SAINTS that burn crosses" so I had to come on here and look. Guess I've been wrong all these years! :/ I saw Tom Morello perform on the back of a pick up truck at a union rally protest at Disneyland a couple of years back. It was pretty amazing. Can't wait to see them next month!! |

| Morrissey – Jack The Ripper Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I love how Morrissey romanticizes Jack the Ripper's "relationships" with his victims. If you didn't know the name of the song it would be easy to confuse it with some sort of forbidden love. I especially love the studio version because of that haunting verse at the end. The way he repeats "Nobody knows me" and then makes that grunt that sounds almost like a laugh afterwards gives an affect that he is taunting you. Very sexy!! | |
| Interpol – Leif Erikson Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Ah.. this song is amazing. Whenever I hear it I can't help but think of that feeling you get when you have sex with someone for the first time. All the emotions that are taking place and wondering what your partner is thinking or feeling versus what you are thinking and feeling. It's really like exploring an unknown territory (which is why I've always thought it was named after explorer Leif Erikson.) It's like learning a new language Helps me catch up with my mime... (Brilliant lyrics!) I also liked someone else's interpretation of it being about sex with a prostitute. I can see that too. :) |
