ive always felt this song was about her in a long relationship, that she had built up- (mountain) and when she understood what sort of person she was, being in love ( seeing her reflection) what she had become, she took her love down- she broke up with him basically and was just letting the "landslide" take her from then on. she was afraid of moving on because she built her life around him but didnt like the person she was and needed to grow up and be her own person, she knows its going to be stormy seas but understands things have to change even if they scare her. |
