I think it's about suicide. Reading the lyrics, I think the mother may have passed away: "The room was silent as we all tried so hard to remember The way it feels to be alive The day that he first met her" her funeral, perhaps? And he cannot take having lost her, so he breaks down and kills himself, apologising to his daughter for leaving her. |
