| oh, and I do think that the "skinny love" shows the state of their relationship. Malnourished and starving for more than it's getting. | |

what I gather from this, is: They're going through a fight that she was trying to avoid, because it's almost the year mark and maybe she thinks that once they make it a year, it'll get better. Trying not to get too hurt by it, and just move on as if the fight never happened, as if those words weren't never said. But... it did happen. as for the veneer... it shows just how "cheap" their love was put together. it wasn't fragile like a vase, it just wasn't strong enough to really get through that fight, it was more hurtful than it should have been. the fact that veneer can also mean that they are trying to conceal their ugliness and pass it off as something nice... this almost makes me think of, like when celebrities or band members date each other for publicity. maybe they have something to gain by them being together anyway, when that fight happened, I think she's the one that's asking him to be patient... and kind and she realizes that's a lot to ask from him- maybe the fight is about something on her end of the deal where he feels like he needs more from her than she's ready to give at the moment, and that's when she's telling him to go ahead and leave her and just let her go, but now she can't take back those hurtful words. Their love won't survive the night. The next day, they will not have the same relationship as before, he has more to lose than she does. At this point, she's the one trying to keep their cheap love together and give him hope, but he's disillusioned. Like the cheap plywood, the weight of their problems is caving in. He felt like he wasted his time with her. He doesn't recognize the woman he once fell in love with him. She destroyed him. I'm not sure why is the one who is saying the last lines... it might be both. She may not be ready for love... so who will love her? but she's the one trying to keep it together, so who will fight for him? |

| Hannah Fury – Girls That Glitter Love the Dark Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This song is about how sick love can become. How we spread this unhealthy love like a disease. We take this love that should be pure and we corrupt it. How we don't even give ourselves a chance for it to blossom into something wonderful because in a way, we sabotage it, driving those very people we love, away... we don't love by respect, we love by control. by making them bitter, tired, weak we hope they won't be able to leave us. but they will... and hate us for them leaving with this new view of love. Yet, she doesn't realize that she's the one who's wrong. She's doesn't understand what she's doing wrong. Why she can't hold on to the ones she loves. Beautiful song. | |
