In college I worked in a small amusement park near the ocean. While not exactly like the type of park Bruce sings about, I have always had a connection to this song. It is hard to explain but the tempo and sound of this song always gives me the exact same feeling as I had at the end of summer when the park was getting ready to close, it got chilly at night, and all my friends were going back to school. This is a very personal comment I know but that’s what great songs do. |
