| Bad Religion – Atheist Peace Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
"It is responsible for more perversion, depravity, crime " I take it you're unaware that atheism has a very statistically significant negative correlation with criminality. Atheists are enormously underrepresented in US prison populations and atheist majority states have statistically far less crime and social problems in general compared to majority religious states. I mean, either you're unaware and making shit up out of complete ignorance... or you're a gigantic liar. Which is it? "I don't hear hear atheists bagging on satan." Nor Papa Smurf, you fucktard. Do you criticize characters you know don't exist like they're real? |

"open your minds" The irony of someone who clearly, unquestioningly believes whatever he's told by certain "authorities" writing this is just stunning. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that if certain politicians with an (R) by their name, or the right religious authorities, told you shit was chocolate ice cream you'd just chow the fuck down. I'd also wager you're the type who shits on intellectuals for all their edumacation and book learnin'. Crack a book *not* written by Glenn Beck, for crying out loud, and learn *why* people who actually know some shit tend to think a certain way. |

| Bad Religion – The Grand Delusion Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
The Grand Delusion is Free Will. The first verse is arguing for determinism - if he had the tools and knowledge to control circumstances completely, he could mold your mind or mine, just like any other physical system. The chorus refers to storybook sages - these would be the theologians and religious apologists who know a lot about religious scripture and doctrine, but presumably little else in the real world (they hide from the sun, so to speak). The second verse is about arguments for Free Will being based purely on an emotional need to make Man "special" and not subject to the deterministic laws of nature. The discoveries that have razed the edifice of the delusion of Free Will are discoveries in neuroscience and related fields. Correct me if I'm wrong. |
