In fact, I'm certain of it. It is pro-debate, but it is pro-debate from the perspective of an atheist. Indeed many atheists want to debate religion. There is no evidence in this song's lyrics to suggest he is religious. The lyrics state the contrary. |

So you think it's implausible? I would say it is a plausible interpretation if these lyrics do indeed have another more ambiguous meaning. Perhaps as plausible as lukefun's interpretation.

Your interpretation is certainly plausible. A possible alternative interpretation of "Entertainment can sometimes be hard when the thing
that you love is the same thing that's holding you down"
is that he loves this person, but he also finds this person constraining and difficult. |

I agree, it is a song blatantly defending atheism. For he doesn't believe in God, and he is not concerned with religion. Presumably then Chris is an Atheist. |
