I agree. And Locomotive's ending too ....that's my favorite ending. Not to mention November Rain's ending.

This song is wicked perfection. That really is all I have to say about it.

Agreed with all you said. And I too love the "my hands are tied" part of Civil War.

Rush – Vital Signs Lyrics 12 years ago
"Everybody got to elevate from the norm" could also mean that we need to see the situation more objectively so as to avoid misunderstandings. Or replacing "the norm" with empathetic listening, questioning and thereby compassionately responding. Without violence and anger as it is "the norm".

Prince – 1999 Lyrics 12 years ago
Some think that having a good time is selfish. I find it a mixture.

What some don't know is the humanitarian that Prince is. Yes, in fact, you can care for others, do things for others, and still enjoy your short life.

Happiness is contagious. And if more people were happy, there would be less bombs. Make sense? Sulking with your head between your knees and being jealous of happy people is hardly taking care of you OR the world.

When people are happy, they are kind. When people receive kindness, they are kind to themselves. When people are kind to themselves, they are naturally kind to others. When people are kind to others, the cycle repeats itself. This cycle is the nonviolent cycle. Don't wait for somebody else. It starts with YOU.

Not everything is life is that complicated. So, lets not overlook things we actually DO have control over.

"Fostering Humanity ~ means passionate kindness to yourself and others. Don't wait for extraordinary moments, BE love in ordinary moments.” --Paulissa Kipp

So what are you doing with your time?

I find your comment irresponsible and ignorant considering the humanitarian that Prince is. Yes, in fact, you can care for others, do things for others, and still enjoy your short life.

What your missing is the fact that happiness is contagious. And if more people were happy, there would be less bombs. Make sense? Sulking with your head between your knees and being jealous of happy people is hardly taking care of you OR the world.

I may be wrong, but Dr. Murray knew well what he was doing. He was a hired hitman in my opinion. Sony was behind his death. All for money.

I was only five years old at the time, but which Genesis songs would have been considered too US-oriented?

Rammstein – Amerika Lyrics 14 years ago
As much as the rest of the world, as a progressive and a multilateralist, I don't agree with all the actions of the US government. However, what I dislike is the people who confuse the government with the average man in the street. We Americans have as much control over our government as do the rest of the world.

As far as globalization and "dictating the world what to do"? That is your fault. You could easily control that by not purchasing anything invented or used by Americans. How about boycotting those things? Your operating systems, mp3s (find out how they got created), Nike sneakers, blue jeans, rap, hip hop, and jazz music, American literature, American musicals, all American artists including musical ones, coca cola, all fast food, ....... it is these things that YOU, the individual have control over. Americans don't have a gun to your heads forcing you to go to Disney Land and to drink Coke, do we?

You behave as YOU wish. Americans have not interfered with your country's sovereignty (the middle east and Vietnam -yes, but not YOUR country), your own leaders have. Yes, your own leaders have screwed you over. Stop playing the blame game, put down the iPod that was invented by Apple, and demand that your leader not sign any contracts with American countries. Then have your country's people boycott all-things-American. Isn't that simple?

Don't use Americans as a scapegoat for your own country's problems. America has enough of her own problems to worry about and fight for. Why don't you fight for your country? What you are angry about, we are too. America is a divided country. Half of us are progressive - the other half conservative. Just know that at least half of us are just as angry at the government as YOU are. See, you don't know this because your media doesn't cover it, and you don't live here.

It's too bad that Rammstein is such a good group, but I will boycott them for their usage of Americans. Dare they try the same thing with China or India when they usurp American's powerful position on the world stage, it would be too politically incorrect. Actually, it is not really Rammstein that I am boycotting, it's the people who are bigoted.

When you resort to prejudice, you have lost your argument. You are no better than Americans. It's sad because I'd like to think that you have a message promoting peace instead of hate. You aren't 'fixing' the US government with these messages. What you're doing is creating more friction across and beyond the pond.

To sum up, the next time you're on the go and in need for a quickie Starbucks and some fast food, go home and prepare it all yourselves while giving America the middle finger if you sincerely want to get some relief for your problems. That's something I'd do. :)
