I think this song is about a mother which cant accept that her son wants to live his own life/be free. She wants to tell him what he has to do but he has his own ideas of life. Also, his relationship to his mother isnt that good. (-> "A mother's love for her son Unspoken, help me be" and "But a cold stone's all I see,I need your arms to welcome me") - "Never I ask of you But never I gave But you gave me your emptiness I now take to my grave" Normaly, even if you dont ask for your mother and never give her anything, she still loves you/gives your love. In this case, she just gives emptiness. |
