| I'm pretty sure its metaphorical. I think the "dj" is the person telling the story, marc bianchi, a dj, in a kind of vague way, someone who really likes making music or making remixes. the "doctor" is the girl, who heals the dj who is clinically depressed. | |

to all the people who think every song is about drugs, and the ones that think its not- you are both right. Elliott did do a lot of drugs, so naturally it reflects in his art. but that does not mean that every line is about drugs, or even the ones that most likely are, are crafted in such a way that can be taken and related to in many different ways that are not pertaining to drugs. or things that are similar, such as anything you depend on or run to to escape. but i think its kind of redundant to take apart every word and syllable saying that this means this, and this means this, etc. because its more about the general feeling communicated through the song, and the tone of his voice, that explains the song more than dissecting every word of something that is meant to be kind of vague. |
