"BLOODY trail beside the water / Leads the lambs into the slaughter" means to me we are the lambs of god and we can see something wrong is going on but since we all play follow the leader we are lead to our death. We help destroy ourselves. "Hands and knees, we all atone / Path is paved with blood and bone" were on our hands and knees and the path were on is paved in the blood and bones of our own kind via war hatred for one another and so on. "Trembly hands reveal their purpose / Blisters form beneath the surface" again we can see their hands shaking/trembling and know whats coming. "No one gonna make us leave / We're the ones that still believe" no one can kill us all off and there are still ones that believe in the right. They are the ones that see and tell others to look. Second half "Fear comes piercing through the silence / In the air, the scent of violence / Watching from above the trees" angels are watching from above in silence and they can sence violence. They watch from above the trees as we fight and destroy each other over NOTHING. these are my thoughts on the song. :) |

Get down On the ground Don't move Make a sound No more Dont control You do What you're told Stand up Sit back down Relax Comes back around Today Patronize Time's up Close your eyes Listen to the sound of my big black boots I thinks about being in control of someone in a violent way which in her voice is HOT. In the beginning it says "get down on the ground" which takes alot of control. "Dont move / make a sound" saying im in control and you are gonna listen. "No more / dont control" sayin you have nothin. "You do what your told" which means what it means. Second half of the song starts with "stand up / sit back down" giving the person one sec of faults hope and then taking it away again. "Relax / comes back around" sayin relax you know im not done yet and you know whats comin again. "Today / patronize / times up / close your eyes" meaning today times up close im done with you. Its a way to destroy angels or people. This is my thought on it. Feel free to comments. Id like to unnderstand this song as much as possible. finally "listen to the sound of my BBB" thats all they can hear. There on ther ground, Eyes closed and i think they really dont know whats gonna happen after that. All they hear is foot steps of someone with BBB's on. |

OMG do i LOVE Trent Reznor. The first song i ever heard was closer and now i listen to NIN daily. I love this song like most songs by him. I think it speaks to everyone in someway or another. LOL didnt right much cuz im not good at explainin things but i deff understand this song. :) ITS GREAT!!!! |
