I'm surprised no one has really hit the mark on this! Here is what someone posted on yahoo and I think seems pretty acurate! I think the heading of this song expresses..."Shes a handsome woman" Meaning shes beautiful and she can get what she wants. For example the first verse... Innocence Sunk the glow and drowned in covers Send for all your absent lovers things --- Innocence...(The womans innocence is questionable because regardless of how beautiful she is...she tends to cheat etc...it concludes within the next two lines). Sunk the glow and drowned in covers...The male in which is invovled with this female is alone within his covers and he knows she is with someone else. Send for all your absent lovers things...In this line it is as if a narrator is instructing him to give up on her...shes an absent lover. Sheepish Wolves Looking lived in eating buttons Wink, just don't put your teeth on me --- This is basically experimenting with the fact of hunting down and hurting something. (Wink just dont put your teeth on me)...that could say that the "hunter" aka...a woman who wants this guy who is the "prey" can only look but not touch. where I got this from is... "sheepish wolves" because wolves and sheep do not match. Accidents Let the evening in the backdoor Filled the room ceiling to the floor --- Accidents...is pretty simple yet they cause big problems. To let the evening in the backdoor filling the room ceiling to the floor is an unusual discomfort. Beat backbones Grazed the poem and made it strange I wasn't born to be a skeleton --- From an unsual discomfort u get beat backbones...meaning back pains as such...stress and such can cause it...so obviously this girl is hurting him and stressing him. he wasnt born to be a skeleton with 'nothing' he was a human too. Go on Grab your hat and fetch a camera Go on, film the world before it happens --- pretty much stating Enjoy what you got before its gone...Be observant. Jealous orchard The sky is falling off the ceiling While I'm tucking fibs into a cookie jar --- Jealous orchard...obviously this "sweet" young man is jealous that his "sweet" girl is cheating on him. I got the word "sweet" from orchard. you'd expect any orchard to produce "sweet" fruits. The sky falling off the ceiling presents that...his world is turning while his telling "fibs" that he is NOT jealous and that he still loves her when his slowly being convinced by her actions he doesnt still love her. Reverie It's useless searching in the cupboards When everything you have is on your back --- Reverie is another word for dream...though I think in the actual booklet of pretty odd it says Bombed reverie...so Im guessing "bombed dreams" because he loved the girl very much but sees no future with her. "its useless searching in the cupboards when everything you have is on your back"...pretty much saying... its useless looking at obvious signs when its all happening behind ur back... and ur subconcious mind is telling u to look for the less obvious signs of this girls innocence. |
