| Shouldn't it be "where the HOLE was dug the first time" instead of whole? It makes a lot more sense to me that way, especially regarding the burying of the soothsayer. The first hole could have been a grave, referenced by the board. Just my thought, I don't know how official these lyrics are. Especially because they sound exactly the same.... | |

I think this song is about a guy who is in an ongoing conflict with his significant other over something she did in the past. He had a big argument over this, and doesn't want to bring it up again, but sometimes he must liberate himself of the cold he feels inside by probing and dissecting the event. In doing so he freezes their relationship, they cannot grow because all he can think about is her past. She doesn't understand why he keeps bringing it up, and feels assaulted and defensive. That's my take on it anyhow. |
