King Crimson – The Court of the Crimson King Lyrics 14 years ago
I believe Fripp was drug free. Sinfield wrote the lyrics. Fripp was not eavily involved in the writing of this LP, but he was the driving force of the band. I agree with all your other comments. It is a great debut.

Uriah Heep – The Wizard Lyrics 14 years ago
I agree that the early Heep songs were about spiritual matters. Maybe this one too. I have loved the song since this lp was released. I remember buying it, taking it home, and playing it immediately and this song was one that has stayed with me almost 40 years. So much of this sounds like Biblical terminology. the second stanza actually almost souds like something out of the Revelation. I think I must agree that the wizard represents Jesus.

Uriah Heep – Salisbury Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is better than good. It is fabulous! The lyrical love story, eventual failure, and hope for return is so wonderfully penned. Congratulations Ken Hensley on a masterpiece. This was the first with full orchestra. This lp was a slight departure from the first raw energy lp, but I recall getting blown away by what we felt was tremendous progress both lyrically and musically. Ken Hensley penned most of this lp. In Salisbury cut credit should be given to Mick Box for the awesome guitar work. The chord progression is simple 4 chords, but the lead riffs, especially the three near the end are mind blowing. His contribution to this, which really should be considered their signature song, is magnificent. If you listen closely you can even hear when he hits the foot button just before ripping it up. Both thumbs up for this cut even more than 40 years after I first heard it, I am still impressed.

Uriah Heep – Easy livin' Lyrics 14 years ago
I agree. This song is about finding Jesus. I also happen to know that Ken Hensley did come to Jesus and maybe this song is autobiographical.

King Crimson – 21st Century Schizoid Man Lyrics 14 years ago
I disagree that the song is not about greed. The first verse brings that concept in with neuro-surgeons screaming for more. It is their greed that feeds the paranoia. It is so prophetic too because here we are in the 21st century and pharmacutical companies control us. Psycho bablers work hand in hand. It is huge money. I also don't think the least useful line is "nothing hes got he really needs." In fact, I think that is one of the better lines. The line that makes this song out of date is the reference to napalm. For you Britts that is a reference to the Vietnam war. That line for that time is quite radical since even Lennon made scarce mentions of that war in his lyrics. I think the most startling part of the whole song is Greg Lakes delivery. He is frantically shouting it as a prophetic warning. Almost as if he is already there himself. It is a great song, and maybe one of the best offerings by this band. Fripp is great, and I love Red maybe best of all.
