| Lana Del Rey – National Anthem Lyrics

Seems like not everyone grows up learning these terms... I guess I grew up with a silver spoon in my mouth. This song really strikes a chord with me because of my background and how people "blur the line between real and fake" ... how money is an anthem for many people... "I just need somebody to hold me." is probably my favorite... you can get so caught up in that kind of life, and sometimes you just really want the simplicities in life back... enough of the decadence. |

...depends on how disassociated they are... but then again... if you are too... it doesn't matter.... they're great. |

This song makes me reminisce, dream, and feel contempt. This song is everything... and let's leave it at that. |

My interpretation is that there are colors and shapes everywhere... and thus art is everywhere. You're welcome. |

Tis about getting laid... in a car... and her being a virgin.. it's pretty self-explanatory. "heart is in the right place, brain is in the dirt." "and it goes on clear" "told you it was love, but you won't know the truth" (because he just told her he loved her to get in her pants)... The beautiful thing is that I get the sense that he feels same remorse. |

| MGMT – The Handshake Lyrics

OMG, YOU'RE RIGHT! I've always understood it as a drug reference (the handshake move where you hand over the drugs)... and that it's on your tongue... tastes like death but looks like fun... FAME... looks fun... but tastes like death. AWESOME. Though, you can NEVER eliminate the drug element in MGMT... but who says it's a bad thing? :) |

but it is.............. Though that shouldn't bother you... if they didn't do drugs... there would be no MGMT. |

Don't kid yourself (no pun intended)... this is pure MGMT drug referencing. The "handshake" is the action in drug dealing where a dealer might shake your hand but is simply handing you the drugs. Get it? "We've got the handshake under our tongues"... Also, the drug is LSD or some form of it, "The handshake's stuck on the tip of my tongue... It tastes like death but it looks like fun" anyone who has ever done LSD can tell you that if you take it in paper form (most common)... it dissolves on your tongue (like the Listerine things) on the tip of your tongue... and it doesn't taste all too great... but the visuals are great "looks like fun". :) If they ever said it was about the record companies... they were just BS-ing... and probably laughing about it. |

| The Black Keys – Lonely Boy Lyrics

It's pretty much about a guy who's fallen madly in love with a girl that isn't good enough for him (seriously). She keeps him waiting... and he does wait because he's a lonely boy... but he should've left her trashy ass just like her parents. Seems pretty callous... but sometimes it's the truth. (if you haven't noticed... I've been around my share of "lack-luster" women). |

I haven't listened to this song for too long... so I'm not going to claim that this is a full interpretation... but I get the impression that she's very unsatisfied in a relationship. That she gives 100% and he doesn't even care. Also, that he has cheated, "I heard that you like the bad girls honey, is that true?". I also feel like he would rather play video games than anything... as if it's a slap in the face to all the effort she puts into the relationship. |

| Foster the People – Call It What You Want Lyrics

Well... I feel like this song is pretty self-explanatory. But in a nutshell, it is about how today's society is full of conformists and how people are so quick to judge others that are "different". Basically, it says,"Don't judge me, I know who I am... and... Why are you so caught up in being like everyone else?". E N J O Y |
