"It seems as though Chino is talking about ¨God¨ or a higher being, a savior (Complex
Priestess) that he has been seeking and found (I've chased your name
I've sailed all through space To watch this), but he realizes that this being is not involved with us directly for some reason and if only ¨she¨ would only show herself to us (Come down Contact Reach us Go wild)and reveal her plans, strategies and the truth(Remove the veil) we would be immediately better and be cured of any spiritual afflictions and sickness of ideals and morals. But its almost as though he realizes that its not totally up to her to do everything, but that he´s the one that has to put in his part, he´s the one who´s ¨sick¨, and by being this he is also the (antidote), by choosing to follow her and be part of her (team) he can be healed. Its not that ¨God¨doesn´t want to be involved with us, but its that we aren´t involved with him. In the end of the song he decides to get involved and to go with her and have this experience (The rockets taking off tonight its time...take me...up), this ride, and rather then her showing herself to us, he is the one who is going to expose her and (I´ll light you up) light her up. Thats what it means to me."

very very very nice marcogallego.... but now think about what is said here and add in that this "priestess" is not God and that it is NOT totally up to her to "do everything" because the "she" is actually "The Sophia (Wisdom)" Wisdom/Sophia is a female energy. Wisdom/Sophia is not just 'knowledge', you must understand the difference between knowledge and Wisdom. and of course the album cover is an OWL... literally the symbol of Wisdom/The Sophia. yes, it is up to us now to see the state of this realm, and to seek out and unveil The Sophia/Wisdom so that we can truly at that point remedy this situation, be the antidote, take off and reach God/Diamond Eyes. "It's Time...." yes.

A Perfect Circle – Magdalena Lyrics 14 years ago
okay, i understand that Maynard's lyrics often can mean multiple things. but this is a song that seems very clear to me. he is talking about a man who is obsessed with strippers, or a particular stripper. and every time he goes to see her dance in the strip club he loses control of himself, looses any self esteem he may have had, and feels the compulsive urge to throw his "dollars" at her fantasizing in his head that he would ever have the chance to have one kiss, or one taste of her. the name of the song being "magdalena" is obviously being used because mary magdalene was considered a prostitute. and in some ways strippers are prostitutes. they take off their clothes and dance in a sexual way to turn men on in order to make money. so basically they are selling their sexuality which basically is a form of prostitution. when he is saying that he is willing to 'sell his soul' or his 'self esteem' 'one dollar at a time' is obviously referring to the way men in those places use their dollars to show their appreciation of the stripper. as i said he is either obsessed with strippers in general, or one in particular. it does tend to suggest that it is one in particular because he is saying that it is rare to see such an 'earthly goddess' that he feels compelled to 'throw this dollar' he is also looking at her body as if it were a 'moving temple' or 'holy altar' again referring to his exaggeration of feelings for her to the point where he has placed her in the realm of the divine. to me it is obviously just a mockery of the kind of men that go to these strip clubs regularly and end up cheapening themselves, over this stripper whom he just so desperately wants one kiss or one taste of to the point that he loses control and throws down his money at her feet almost as an offering one would bestow upon a goddess. of all of their songs, i think this one is pretty much an easy one to understand.
